Ludlow is an unspoiled medieval market town dating back to the 12th Century, and was the UK pioneer of the slowtown movement. The town is home to Ludlow Castle, the beautiful Ludlow church and in recent years has become famous for its gastronomy with the Michelin starred Mr Underhills and numerous other restaurants offering high standards of cuisine. Also Ludlow is home to The Ludlow Festival which takes place in the last week of June and the first week in July, the Ludlow Marches Food & Drink Festival also takes place in September throughout the town. There is also a Medieval Christmas Fair at the end of November.
Nearby there are many opportunities to go horse riding, mountain biking, kite flying, walking, clay pigeon shooting and various other activities.
